Fern
Heyman, Board Advisor
Fern Heyman has over twenty years experience in corporate operations
and human resources. Her key asset is the ability to align the management
of human capital (attracting, developing and retaining talent) with
strategic & operational goals. Fern has been a member of the
executive teams of diverse companies and managed the Human Resources
components for success. Her contributions to Humanatek, Inc. have
been extensive and very welcomed. Fern is available for public speaking

Strategy, Process and Structure:
Fern has extensive experience creating and implementing procedures
that maximize operational effectiveness. She helps create order
in the chaos of young companies. In developing the people side of
Day Nine, Inc., a professional services start-up led by former Cambridge
executives, Fern created a scalable organizational backbone as the
team initiated operation. Fern has also helped refine or introduce
innovative processes and procedures in more mature companies. She
created and managed one of the first highly successful dedicated
internal sourcing engines in the Systems Integration industry at
Cambridge Technology Partners (CTP). As a result, CTP increased
its capability to attract top-notch, targeted, and passive candidates
at a significantly lower cost per hire.
Resource Management: Fern can attract, develop, retain, and right-size
staff resources through both conventional and creative methodologies.
Fern works with the Executive team to develop unique retention programs.
She provided guidance for the realignment of department and organization
objectives during Verticalnets transformation from a top portal
company, with highly independent business units, into a unified
enterprise software company. Her input on organizational structure
strongly influenced the structure and staff balances at CTP and
Day Nine.
